Ages: 13 years and under (taken January 1st)

Young Dancer of the Globe is a special competition within our Finals where the most talented young dancers from the globe are nominated to compete for the title of The Dancer of the Globe. 

Our Young Dancer of the Globe competition is NEW for 2025!

This competition is aimed at stand out young talents & the next generation of stars.

Dancers must receive nominations at Qualifiers to compete in this.

 

TO BE NOMINATED DANCERS MUST: 

• Compete with at least 2 solos: 1 solo must be either Jazz/Lyrical. The other solo can be any style from our Performer Categories or Contemporary

• 2 solos must score 90 points and be placed in the Upper Division for the Finals

• Dancers must also receive a nomination- the above does not automatically qualify you for DOTG.

• Any nominations at qualifiers are FINAL & not subject to appeal​

Once nominated dancers will take part in the following. 

 

DOTG CLASSWORK

Dancers will take part in a 1-hour 30 marked class (audition style) which will feature both Jazz & Lyrical styles.

This class will be scored by a panel of Directors from Leading Performing Arts Colleges

 

The scores from the class will count towards 40%  of overall marks

 

DOTG PERFORMANCE

All nominees will need to chose 1 solo (from Performers Styles) to dance in the Dancer of the Globe section .

This can be a solo already competed or a different solo- the dancers choice.

 

The scores from the performance will count towards 60% of overall marks

 

Dancers will be needed in Birmingham from July 14-July 21st

DOTG VIDEO SHOOT

All nominees will be invited to take part in our 2025 Concept video which will be rehearsed and choreographed by an international choreographer (to be announced) 

Rehearsals for the video shoot will start on July 14

Winner Runner Up will be announced on July 20th evening (End of Gala)

The film day for the video is July 21

 

HOW IT WORKS?

Once dancers have completed their classwork & performance, the top 2 dancers will be announced and will later dance again at the Performer Gala.

Our Runner up & Winner will be announced at the end of our Performer Gala
